SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — Pakatan Harapan’s (Harapan) parliamentary seat candidate for Kuala Langat Manivanan Gowin has pledged to address living cost issues in parliament should he be elected to represent the constituency.
He said that based on his meetings with the locals, he received a lot of complaints regarding the difficulties in getting necessities such as eggs, aside from being burdened with the rising cost of food items.
“They consistently raised their worries about price hikes and the difficulties to get egg supply. Some of them said they cannot increase their price but at the same time they have to bear the hike in raw cost,” he said when met in Kuala Langat, yesterday.

Meanwhile, in Sepang, the parliamentary seat candidate for Harapan Aiman Athirah hopes to hold a youth assembly to empower the younger generation should she be given the mandate in the ongoing 15th general election (GE15).
She proposed the session to be held at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly once every three months.
“The assembly, meant for the public and the youth group, is important as it could be the main platform for them to raise their concerns.
“It could be difficult for them to reach out to the heads of villages or state representatives due to several constraints. Therefore, having a dedicated session for them is a significant move,” she said when met in Sungai Merab, yesterday.

“I am not someone who simply proclaims sweet promises like my opponents.
“Khairy Jamaluddin’s political secretary is from Sungai Buloh, what have they done to the people all this while? Make sure we don’t be a victim to their sweet promises,” he said this in a speech at Kampung Paya Jaras Hilir on November 8.
Ramanan will go against Khairy Jamaluddin of Barisan Nasional in a seven-cornered fight along with other candidates from Perikatan Nasional, Pejuang and Parti Rakyat Malaysia.

In Ampang, Harapan’s parliamentary seat candidate Rodziah Ismail has become more eager to continue her campaign following increased support from residents within the area.
She said local people have been more familiar with her since she started her campaign trail after the nomination day.
“Today I went campaigning in the Ampang Mewah area, covering Flat Taman Ampang Mewah and visiting residents in Taman Mulia Jaya.
“I also went for a walkabout in Taman Ampang Mewah night market. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), I saw increasing support from the people in the villages and elite housing areas,” she said.
Rodziah added that the Harapan election machinery in Ampang will try its best to disseminate accurate information related to the state government’s initiative.
She also said she will improve communications between local representatives and residents from day to day until the end of the campaign period.
“Those who are more privileged in terms of education will always keep tabs on current information. However, when we went on ground, we noticed that many people were not aware of the initiatives.
“Some of the community leaders also did not know about the programmes initiated by the state government, therefore, it is important to hold multiple dialogue sessions with the public,” she said.
