SHAH ALAM, Nov 9 — Pakatan Harapan’s (Harapan) Segambut parliamentary seat candidate Hannah Yeoh was alerted by residents in Taman Tun Dr Ismail about her vandalised campaign banners and billboards, yesterday.

Hannah lamented her frustrations on Twitter when she found out that her banners in several locations were cut and billboards were vandalised.

“I was alerted by residents of Taman Tun Dr Ismail this morning (yesterday) that the Harapan’s flags were brought down, my banners were cut and my billboards were vandalised in a few locations. I am sad as we are not spoiled with money. Stop dirty politics and let’s have a clean election,” she tweeted.

She also asked residents with CCTV cameras in the affected locations to send the clips to her to aid police investigation.

Similarly, three days ago, Permatang Pauh candidate Nurul Izzah Anwar had also encountered the same issue, prompting her to urge for a mature political legacy and leave the hate culture behind.

“To the youngsters, let’s build a mature political legacy and leave the hate culture behind. That’s just not who we are. Although the banner is cut, the spirit remains strong. Insha-Allah,” she said on Twitter on Sunday.

She also shared a photo showing one of her campaign banners was vandalised along with the tweet.

Meanwhile, citing reports from The Sun Daily, police have been investigating the vandalism of former Segambut MP Hannah Yeoh in TTDI and Bandar Utama.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the case had been classified under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing loss or damage, carrying a jail term of one to five years or a fine or both upon conviction.

He also urged political party members to keep their supporters' behaviour in check to ensure that their conduct remained within the rule of law.
