SHAH ALAM, Nov 3 — Selangor is a good example of what Malaysia can be if Pakatan Harapan (PH) is given the mandate to govern the country in the 15th general election (GE15).
Selangor PH chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the state is the best model and a success story of the coalition’s administrative capabilities, which the general public can see.
“Even though we are only contesting for parliamentary seats, our opponents from BN (Barisan Nasional) and PN (Perikatan Nasional) will still attack the state (Selangor). That is because they know that Selangor is our (PH) success story.
“We have demonstrated that if there is a will, many things are possible. That is why Selangor is a good example to emulate and a representation of what the country can become if we (PH) are given the mandate to take control of Putrajaya this time,” said Amirudin at an event introducing the Selangor PH parliament candidates for the upcoming GE15 at Dewan Raja Muda Musa, here last night.
Also present were Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu, DAP deputy chairman Gobind Singh Deo and Selangor PH secretary Mohd Khairuddin Othman.
Amirudin, who will be contesting the Gombak parliamentary seat, also said that to replicate the achievement of Selangor state at the federal level, Selangor PH is offering a range of qualified candidates with experience to run for parliamentary seats.
“Tonight, we present to you candidates with calibre, experience, fresh faces and enthusiasm, candidates with varied backgrounds, and even from seasoned political fighters to activists.
“We even have professionals such as doctors and lawyers, young warriors and top corporate figures. Most importantly, we have political leaders who have governed the state well.
“These individuals will contest for parliament not because they are greedy, but because we want to bring the success story of Selangor and the achievements we have made here to build a better Malaysia.
“The advancements we have made in this state have brought happiness to the people and we hope to emulate that for the rest of Malaysia,” said Amirudin with zest.
Meanwhile, Amirudin reminded that the upcoming polls will determine the future of Malaysia and the direction of the nation.
The Selangor PKR chairman also expressed his hopes that the same historic victory in the 2018 election can be repeated once more.
“I felt proud of the people’s support back in 2018. The charitable giving from our dearest supporters. All because everyone hoped for change, a change for a different government that will govern responsibly and with fairness.
“We believe we can replicate this again come November 20, when we march to Putrajaya with a win,” he said.
