SUBANG JAYA, Oct 27 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has allocated RM556,000 in preparation for post-flood management activities, should flooding occur in the near future.

Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Johary Anuar said the allocation will be used to purchase equipment, as well as rent large garbage trucks and bulldozers, to add to its existing assets.

“During the floods last year, we experienced constraints in post-flood management which resulted in slow garbage removal, leading to unpleasant and unwanted odours.

“This resulted in complaints, so for this year we will be better prepared for post-flood management, should it happen,” he said in a press conference today.

Speaking after presiding over the 10th MBSJ Plenary Meeting for 2022, Johary said MBSJ has also prepared a special fund of RM50,000, in the event of any disasters.

“This allocation is for immediate preliminary relief works (which are not projects) for disasters like floods or landslides,” he said.
