SHAH ALAM, Oct 1 — The Insurans Hayat Selangor (Insan) programme, which provides six million individuals with free general insurance, is now open for registration.
State executive councillor for investment, industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said that beginning at 9am today, registration may be completed using the Wavpay e-wallet.
“Free general insurance for six million people with RM 10,000 in coverage in the event of death or total disability due to an accident.
“The initiative is sponsored by the Selangor state government,” he said on Facebook today.
On August 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced the move to protect the people of Selangor through the general insurance coverage Insan.
The initiative offers coverage for babies as young as 30 days old to the elderly at 80.
To qualify for protection under Insan, the recipient must either be born in Selangor or has the Selangor address on their identification card, or a voter in the state.
The registration period begins from October 1, 2022, until September 30, 2023, and the 12-month coverage period begins from the date the policy is issued.
