SHAH ALAM, Sept 2 — The public is invited to follow the live broadcast of the Hadiah Sastera Selangor (HSS) 2021 awards ceremony, which will be held at The Saujana Hotel here on September 10.
The ceremony which will be officiated by Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari can be watched on SelangorTV's YouTube channel and MediaSelangor's Facebook page.
The three main winners of the short story, poetry and essay categories will each take home RM5,000 in cash while four writers in the three categories will each win RM1,000 in cash.
Also scheduled during the event is the book launching ceremony for Si Pena V, which brings together the works of the HSS 2020 and 2021 winners.
Aside from that, the Gelagat dan Ragam Orang Melayu, Tunku Kelana Penuh Cinta and Selangor History books, which are published by the Inisiatif Buku Darul Ehsan (IBDE, will also be launched at the event.
HSS, which started in 2015 was inspired by Amirudin when he was the state executive councillor for culture. Winners are selected by an independent jury panel based on works published in the Selangorkini portal and newspaper.
