SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — Selangor is ready to become the distribution centre for Türkiye’s leading halal food industry company, to expand its business in Southeast Asia.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said he recently made an offer to Ankara-based Yayla Agro, after witnessing its huge business potential.
He added the company's amazing research and development (R&D) capability has enabled it to penetrate the global halal food market in seven continents, with a presence in over 80 countries.
"The potential for their business development in Southeast Asia is very encouraging.
"Thus I am excited to offer Selangor's capacity to become their distribution centre for the Asean region, as part of a bilateral investment mission," Amirudin said in a Facebook, in conjunction with the state’s recent trade mission to Türkiye.
The state government delegation, via Invest Selangor Sdn Bhd, also had the opportunity to visit the company which has been in business for over 38 years and meet with its board of directors chairman Kenan Demirtas.
During the visit, the Menteri Besar also spent time with and gave his appreciation to Selangor native Irfan Khairrul, who works there as Yayla Agro's export specialist.
"We are indeed very proud of the #KitaSelangor spirit shown by Irfan," he said.
