SUBANG JAYA, Aug 20 — Almost 3,000 small traders and hawkers under Subang Jaya City Council (MSBJ) jurisdiction have participated in Selangor Platform (Plats) to expand their business.

Subang Jaya deputy mayor Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali said the participants consisted of traders at morning markets, night markets (pasar malam), bazaars and food court operators.

“MBSJ has been actively inviting the small traders and hawkers to join the digital platform to help them expand their businesses.

“We have also promoted Plats at 20 ‘pasar malam’ and 13 morning markets locations to get more traders to join,” he said today.

Earlier, he had participated in the walkabout programme at Pasar Budaya Borneo in Seri Kembangan here.

Also present were Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad and Seri Kembangan state assemblyman Ean Yong Hian Wah.

Plats were first introduced during the month of Ramadan two years ago, to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem with a digital platform, following the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to help traders generate continuous income instead of only being limited to the fasting month.

Plats 3.0 was again continued this April, with a collaboration between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB), Selangor Digital Partner (RDS), and the state’s 12 local authorities.
