SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has allocated RM360,000 to upgrade the drains along Jalan SS19/7 to prevent flash floods from recurring.

Subang Jaya state assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze said the two-month upgrading works will start on August 12 and is estimated to be completed by October 13.

“This project is necessary as two schools located in the area, namely SJKC Lick Hung and SK SS19, are frequently affected by flash floods with water that can rise to a foot high.

“We apologise if these upgrade works are an inconvenience to the students, parents and the surrounding community,” she told SelangorKini.

Ng added that Jalan SS19/7 needs to be temporarily closed to traffic, to ensure the works will run smoothly.

"For the parents of SJKC Lick Hung students, we ask them to use Pintu D (to send or pick up their children), while for SK SS19 please use the alternative gate access behind the school.

"MBSJ will also ask the contractor to provide workers to help control traffic flow at the location," she said.
