SHAH ALAM, July 27 — The state government has set up the Risk Management Committee as part of its effort at improving crisis management under the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the committee will be using a scientific data approach in facing various types of risks within the state.

“The probability of a drastic climate change and excess of rainfall in Selangor require a proactive action, including anticipating potential risks,” he said when tabling RS-1 during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said via the Selangor Digital Transformation initiative, the state government’s digital service transformation programme has been executed to achieve the Smart Selangor State by 2025.

“Several initiatives including SELangkah, the Citizen E-Payment Platform (CEPat) and Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) have proven their success in ensuring seamless services through digital transformation.

“To further expand the digitalisation initiative, we will implement the Selangor Government Data Exchange (SelGDX) as an integrated data sharing platform across state government agencies and the public sector,” he added.

On March 24, the state government spent approximately RM450 million to implement various digital programmes, including the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS) and distributing free SIM cards to students.

Amirudin said the amount is part of the RM600 million allocation for the state’s digitalisation agenda from 2020 until 2021.
