First Selangor Plan addresses people’s welfare, enhance public service

SHAH ALAM, July 9 — The First Selangor Plan (RS-1), which will be revealed at the end of the month, addresses a number of issues, from enhancing the quality of public services to ensuring the welfare of the people.

In achieving the Smart State agenda by 2025, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said there are four principles in the RS-1, namely economic, social, sustainability and governance.

The RS-1 is the first document of its kind to address the needs of the Selangor people and foster strong resilience for overcoming problems in the future in a more complex environment,” he said on Twitter today.

According to an infographic tweeted by the Menteri Besar, the economic principle aims to strengthen Selangor’s position and ensure that it becomes the main focus of investment in Malaysia and Asia.

As for the social principle, it emphasises Selangor as the community’s preferred state to reside in due to the availability of work possibilities and numerous digital technologies, while the sustainability principle focuses on the preservation and conservation of the environment, ensuring Selangor's success in becoming a low-carbon state.

It also includes the governance principle, which is to transform the civil service into a more modern, forward-thinking, and people-centred organisation.

Amirudin on Thursday launched the symposium of the RS-1 at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Convention Centre. The five-year comprehensive plan will be tabled at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly on July 25.
