SHAH ALAM, June 4 — Tourism Selangor has announced the reopening of Chongkak Forest Eco Park to visitors starting today after it was closed late last year to upgrade its facilities.

Its chief executive officer Azrul Shah Mohamad said although there is no limit on the number of visitors, all parties are advised to wear face masks in the area.

He said hiking activity at Bukit Cenuang requires a permit from the Selangor State Forestry Department that needs to be shown to the staff on duty, while overnight camping is not allowed.

"It is hoped that the public can return to enjoy nature and conduct recreational activities in Selangor, yet focus on maintaining cleanliness, as well as the safety of themselves and other visitors," he said in a statement.

The tourist destination supervised by Tourism Selangor was closed on December 18, 2021, to make way for upgrading and renovation works.

The following are the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for visitors: :

* Opening hours are from 8am to 5pm

* Visitors must make payment before entering the area or carrying out any activities

* Booking of the astaka and assembly sites as well as open hall need to be made at least one week before the chosen date

* Visitors who bring in their vehicle must fill in a vehicle entry form

* All filming activities need approval from the management and application need to be made at least two weeks before the filming date

* Visitors are not allowed after operating hours

* The entrance gates will be locked at 5pm
