BESTARI JAYA, June 2 — The Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) has set a new record for the most visitors at approximately 59,167 people as of this May.

Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) chief executive officer Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the number exceeds the previous record of 36,000 in 2018.

"In 2019 and 2020 there was a considerable decline, likely due to the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the Movement Control Order.

"Whereas last year with several restrictions loosened the numbers went up to 26,262 people, and as of this May 59,167 visitors," he said.

Mohamad Khairil was speaking at the launch of the Selangor Crop Seedlings programme, which was officiated by Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin.

He added the highest number of daily visitors was recorded on Sunday (May 29) with 1,651 people.

The previous highest number of daily visitors was on February 1 with 1,227 people.

Located in Bestari Jaya, SFV involves an area of nearly 1,000 hectares with 20 types of fruits available, including starfruit, durian, mango, guava, jackfruit, pulasan and grapes.
