Amirudin retains PKR Gombak division chief post, calls for party unity

SHAH ALAM, May 29 — Selangor Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has defended his post as Gombak division chief after defeating Farhash Wafa Salvador in a one-on-one contest in the party polls.

Following the win, Amirudin expressed his gratitude and thanked all PKR members in Gombak for their support.

The Selangor Menteri Besar, who garnered 1,858 votes, had also called for the party members to strengthen cooperation in facing the upcoming general elections.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God). I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to all members of the PKR Gombak. I will shoulder the trust and responsibility given to me the best possible in pursuing our efforts and good work in Gombak.

“I would (also) like to call on all PKR Gombak members to strengthen cooperation, embrace all our strengths and be prepared to defend Gombak as a PKR stronghold in the 15th general election,” he said on Facebook today.

Amirudin also expressed his appreciation to his opponent for making the contest for the post a healthy competition and thanked the Party Election Committee (JPP) for ensuring that the party polls in the Gombak division had run smoothly.

The results were released on the PKR Polls 2022 website today.
