KUALA SELANGOR, May 20 — The state government has managed to overcome all constraints since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country as a result of working together, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said despite various challenges, Selangor remains peaceful despite the political instability throughout the pandemic.

"Since 2020, the country has faced several crises including Covid-19 and natural disasters, followed by political instability at the national and state levels.

"At a time when other states changed Menteri Besars which led to the organising of state elections mid-term, we managed to withstand the tests and overcome all constraints by way of mutual consensus-building," Amirudin said.

The Menteri Besar was speaking at the Selangor Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house at the Bandar Melawati Bus Terminal in Kuala Selangor earlier today, which was attended by over 5,000 visitors.

Similarly, Amirudin said the state government is determined to continue the mandate it won during the general elections in 2018 with trust and patience as it believes the voice of the people should not be taken lightly.

"We believe the voice of the people should not be played with via political games but instead defended vigorously.

"It is also in line with what has been emphasised in the Selangor Budget 2022, which is to build a state that is resistant to trials and tribulations and which uplifts people," he said.
