KUALA LANGAT, May 15 — Development in Selangor continues to remain balanced and covers all aspects despite the state’s vigorous investment activities.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state has organised various programmes on health, culture and religion to help the community.
“This is the aspect of balance that we wanted to create in the state because despite being active with the investment and economic development efforts, we continue to explore various platforms such as e-commerce to help the community get out from the (economic) burden of life.
"We have also expanded programmes such as the state’s health screening programme, Saringan Selangor Sihat and implemented welfare programmes for religious and cultural institutions," he said.
He said this during his opening speech at the state-level Wesak Day celebration at Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple in Jenjarom, Kuala Langat, here yesterday.
Amirudin added that Selangor has also maintained its focus on the existing economic sub-sectors apart from introducing new sectors such as e-commerce, rail and aerospace industry development.
“In fact, I am proud that the cultural and religious aspects have become an attraction for (tourists in) Selangor.
"For example, the main attraction in Selangor is not only in its economic development and infrastructure but in three assets related to culture and religion, which is the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque or the Blue Mosque, Batu Caves and the Fo Guang Shan Dong Zen Temple," he said.
