SHAH ALAM, April 29 — The inclement weather in Hulu Selangor earlier today has since spread to two other districts where heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms are to be expected until this evening.
In a statement issued at 4.45pm the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said these districts now include Gombak dan Hulu Langat.

"Other states and territories which will also experience strong weather include Hulu Terengganu in Terengganu, Kelantan (Jeli dan Gua Musang) Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Baling, Kulim dan Bandar Baharu) Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang dan Muallim) Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Kuantan, Bera dan Rompin) and Johor (Mersing dan Kota Tinggi)
"In East Malaysia, only Limbang (Lawas) in Sarawak will be affected but in Sabah it will include Pedalaman (Sipitang, Tenom, Beaufort, Keningau dan Tambunan), Pantai Barat (Papar, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Ranau dan Kota Belud) dan Kudat," it said.
The weather pattern is expected to persist until 7pm.
MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
