SHAH ALAM, April 29 — The district of Hulu Selangor can expect to see heavy rain, strong winds and thunderstorms until 5pm today, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
In a statement released at 2.50pm, the agency said inclement weather is also expected in several parts of Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Kuala Muda, Sik and Baling) and Perak (Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang, Muallim, Kinta and Kampar)
Pahang (Raub, Bentong, Temerloh, Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis and Rompin) and Johor (Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru) will also experience strong weather.
MetMalaysia issues a warning when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour which are expected to occur over the one-hour duration.
Thunderstorm warnings are short-term and are valid within six hours after it was issued.
