SHAH ALAM, March 31 — The water supply for the areas affected by the repair works for a leaking valve in Warta Lama, Jalan Kuching has reached 76 per cent as of 12pm today, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor)

It said the water supply is expected to fully recover by 6pm today.

"Alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption," Air Selangor said in a statement.

It asked for consumers' cooperation in practising social distancing and wearing face masks while collecting the water supply from the water tankers.

"Air Selangor also hopes that consumers who have received the water supply use water prudently to ensure that the water supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled," Air Selangor said.

On Tuesday, 144 areas in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur were hit by an unscheduled water supply disruption due to the leaking valve.

Initially scheduled for completion at 9pm yesterday, the repair works were delayed due to heavy rain and were completed by 2am today.
