DAMANSARA, March 26 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has come up with sustainable development goals involving 10 themes to ensure the wellbeing of its residents in the future.
Mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir said the long term measures outlined in the Petaling Jaya Smart Sustainable & Resilient 2030 (PJSSR 2030) strategic plan focuses on the urban poor, entrepreneurship initiatives and digitalisation.
He said the theme focuses on the aspects of becoming a smart, inclusive, low carbon, child-friendly and educated city.
Mohamad Azhan said the plan also focuses on initiatives to boost the city’s economy, the circular economy, society 5.0 as well as creating a safe and resilient city and on e-administration.
"For the economic sector, we will encourage investment from local and international, improve the tourism sector and provide more local centres.
"Everything needs to be planned so that the economic recovery and the well-being of the people are more organised, especially during the post-pandemic," he said at the opening ceremony of PJKita@Sri Damansara Market here yesterday.
The PJKita@Sri Damansara Market is the first public market in the district to have a modern and comprehensive design with user-friendly features including for person-with-disabilities (OKU).
