SHAH ALAM, Jan 22 — Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is in a stable condition following his elective procedure at the National Heart Institute (IJN) earlier this month.
"His condition is now stable, and is responding positively to the treatment. Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali and family ask the people to pray for his full recovery," said his daughter Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir on Twitter.
The 96-year old Langkawi MP was admitted to IJN on January 7, and discharged on January 13, several days after the procedure was completed by a team of doctors from IJN and the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
Earlier today he was re-admitted to IJN, with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri among Dr Mahathir's visitors and well-wishers this evening.
On Facebook, Ismail Sabri requested that all Malaysians pray for Dr Mahathir's recovery, and for his family to remain strong.
