SUBANG, Dec 29 — Former conjoined twin Ahmad Rosli is heartbroken when the laptop he is using for his university's final project was damaged during the floods on December 18.

Ahmad was further saddened when his drawing tools worth more than RM1,000 was also damaged during the incident.

The Management and Science University (MSU) student said he started working on the final project about a month ago to complete his Diploma in Graphic Arts course.

“I had placed the laptop on top of the cupboard for safety but the cupboard collapsed during the flood and the laptop fell into the floodwater along with my drawing tools.

“I am so saddened by this but my lecturer told me not to worry and focus on work to clean up our flooded house first," said Ahmad, who loves to paint portraits.

His family home in Kampung Tengah Puchong was among those badly affected by the floods, two weeks ago.

Ahmad and his brother Muhammad, 23, once made global news when their stories attracted the attention of the late king of Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who generously funded the full cost of their separation surgery of RM1.7 million.

Both, who were then four years old, had undergone the major operation on September 17, 2002, at the King Fahad National Guard Hospital in Riyadh.

The operation took 22 hours and 45 minutes and surgeons were able to use skin from an unused third leg to cover the wound left by the surgery, leaving each boy with only one leg.

Muhammad, who graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Science, is currently working as an information technology project leader in Cyberjaya.
