SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — Lorries under KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) have been sent to collect flood waste and garbage at Taman Sri Nanding in Hulu Langat, said Menteri Besar Dato 'Seri Amirudin Shari.

"48 armroll lorries were deployed to collect and clean up flood waste and garbage, after a massive clean-up of Taman Sri Nanding.

"Data is monitored via a live update at the KDEB Waste Command Centre," he said on Facebook today.

Since last Sunday, KDEBWM has been carrying out the cleaning process in stages in the flood-stricken areas of several districts throughout Selangor, which is expected to be completed within a week.

Several local councils from other states have also mobilised their workforce to Selangor, in addition to volunteers who have also helped to expedite the cleanup process.

The extraordinary rain from December 17 to 19 was double the previous highest rainfall average of 180mm, resulting in many places in Selangor becoming submerged in water.
