SHAH ALAM, Oct 9 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will resume its Car Free Day programme next month, which was last held in March 2020.
Its deputy mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan said the continuation of the programme was to promote healthy living lifestyles as well as to reduce the carbon monoxide gas emission.
“The programme is also in line with MBSA direction to make Shah Alam as a low carbon city by 2030.
“Insya Allah (God willing), the programme will have strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) compared to previous events that recorded over 5,000 participants,” he said.
He said this during Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara virtual talk show on the ‘21st Anniversary of Shah Alam City’ that was aired live on Media Selangor’s Facebook page and SelangorTV Youtube channel last night
Previously, the Shah Alam Car Free Day programme was held from 7am to 11am every Sunday in the second week of the month.
The programme also features various activities such as running, cycling, aerobics and wall climbing.
