MB: Sky Mirror unique, among best tourist attractions in the world

SHAH ALAM, August 21 — The Sky Mirror off the Kuala Selangor coastline has the potential to become an international tourist attraction due to its uniqueness which is almost comparable to Bolivia’s Salar De Uyuni, the world largest salt flat.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the area offers a unique mirror-like reflection of the sky, which is among the best experience in the world and has the advantage of being easier to visit.

“The same place in Bolivia takes three to four days to reach but the Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor can be reached in just 30 minutes.

"Before the Covid-19 pandemic, it is estimated that around 15,000 to 20,000 tourists visited the place in a month, there are many attractions over there… even the foods are delicious," he said on the Tiga Talk online talk show last night.

The programme was broadcast live on Facebook and hosted by three well-known presenters Halim Othman, Linda Onn and Kudsia Kahar.

To increase Kuala Selangor’s tourism potential, Amirudin said the state government focuses on promoting eco-tourism and agriculture which are listed under the tourism cluster for the area.

Previously, when inter-district travel was allowed at the end of last year, Amirudin responded to the state’s “Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu!” tourism campaign when he chose Kuala Selangor for his family holiday destination.

Amirudin and his family visited the Sky Mirror as well as Bukit Malawati, the Royal Tomb, Firefly Sanctuary, they also went go-karting at the Litar Lumba Rakyat Kuala Selangor and caught giant freshwater prawn or ‘udang galah’ in Kampung Kuantan.
