SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — The state government is looking for 1,000 volunteers under the Selangor Community Health Volunteers (SUKA) programme to carry out public health activities within the community.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the selected volunteers would undergo training in stages using modules related to Covid-19.

“They will be professionally trained on patient management, conducting Covid-19 testing at home and the use of home assessment tools through SELangkah.

“The programme would also be able to cultivate involvement in volunteering works within the society,” he said on a Facebook post today.

In an infographic shared on the post, Amirudin stated that other benefits offered to the volunteers include the state’s Peduli Sihat Insurance Scheme (SIPS) and a volunteer kit that contains a vest, fabric mask, medical gloves and personal protective equipment (PPE).

SUKA was formed earlier this month and mobilised to all the 56 Selangor state constituencies.

Further inquiries can be forwarded to [email protected], or sign up as a volunteer via https://bit.ly/SUKA2021.
