SHAH ALAM, May 6 — The state-developed contact-tracing app SELangkah (Step In, Safely) is now updated with new functions in conjunction with its first year anniversary.
SELangkah through a Facebook post announced three new features to its mobile app, namely ‘multi-scanner’, ‘bubble’ and ‘AfMap’.
Based on video sharing, the ‘multi-scanner’ allows individuals to scan any QR code including MySejahtera QR code. Indirectly it also scans as well as checks in the individual simultaneously.
‘Bubble’ works for group check-in where there are three categories involving family, friends and colleagues.
While, ‘AfMap’ serves to inform the level of risk when in an area, through the display of maps of areas identified as having a high risk of Covid-19 transmission in the next 14 days.
The contact-tracing app was introduced on May 5, 2020, to facilitate monitoring of the public during pandemics and the movement control order (MCO).
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said SELangkah uses the basic concept of automatic control for the registration of individuals who enter any premises easily and quickly.
SELangkah is available for download to smartphones via Apple’s App Store or Google’s Play Store.
