SHAH ALAM, April 7 — The Shah Alam City Council yesterday introduced i-GRED, an application to evaluate and grade the level of cleanliness and food safety at eateries.
MBSA acting mayor Rashidi Ruslan said i-GRED is a food premise cleanliness level inspection and evaluation system that is carried out holistically involving three parties, namely the operators, customers or members of the public and MBSA inspection officers.
He said MBSA is targetting for 200 food premises to use the application by the end of the year.
“Operators must get a minimum of 30 responses from visitors in a month through i-GRED as a cleanliness monitoring method,” he told reporters after the council’s monthly assembly here yesterday.
He said the application, which can be downloaded for free, will also help promote food premises with a good level of cleanliness and safety.
