RM50,000 fund to boost Selangor 4B Alumni activities

SHAH ALAM, April 4 — The Selangor government has channelled a RM50,000 fund to the Selangor 4B Alumni Association to help boost the group’s activities.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the assistance would benefit 2,000 registered alumnus in 22 parliamentary constituencies in the state.

“I am glad to be able to spend some time with the 4B members and meet with old friends who have voiced their intention to work together with the Selangor government in helping the society in various fields.

“The 4B Alumni (group) has the experience and spirit to help the people, especially those in the low-income groups. Therefore, I believe that with this spirit, it would ensure that the state government’s welfare programmes would be able to be fully executed,” he said when met after the launch of the 4B Alumni Association annual general meeting at the De Palma Hotel, here yesterday.

Meanwhile, Selangor 4B Alumni chairman Datuk Ahmad Bhari Abd Rahman said the fund would be able to lift the spirit of the group to continue assisting and looking after its members as well as the local community.

“His (Amirudin) openness is something we are proud of and this is the kind of character we look up to without being too restricted,” he said.

The Selangor 4B Alumni Association is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that focuses on welfare and community programmes.
