SHAH ALAM, March 25 — Selangor government is offering 14,000 bazaar lots for Ramadan throughout the state this year.
According to an Utusan report, state executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the number has dropped compared to a few years ago in view of the Covid-19 situation.
“This is because the Ramadan bazaars need to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) fixed by the National Security Council (NSC).
“However, I have requested for all the district councils to review whether it is viable to allow more traders to be at the Ramadan bazaars,” said Rodziah.
She said local councils enforcers will be stationed at each bazaar to ensure traders and visitors comply with the SOPs.
Rodziah also advised the people to go for online payment transactions (cashless payment) to reduce the risk of Covid-19 infection.
“We try to minimise contacts during sales transactions, therefore traders can get the code to access for the e-wallet when applying for the bazaar permit,” she added.
On March 23, Rodziah said the Selangor e-kitchen programme will be continued this year using a different approach to assist traders in generating income during the month of Ramadan.
