RAWANG, March 21 — The Selangor government will improve the land rights policy introduced in 2008 to enable fairer provision for the people.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the new policy is expected to be announced in the Belanjawan Selangor 2022 (2022 Selangor Budget) or before the end of the year.
“We want to make sure that the people have land ownership but it must be done through the proper process and procedures. The state government will review the matter by assessing the data we get.
“This will also enable us to track the number of lands owned by individuals. The intention is not to stop them but to ensure that the people in need are also accorded their rights,” he said, yesterday.
Amirudin added that the matter was recently discussed at the State Executive Council Meeting.
“The state administration needs to assess some particular aspects, weaknesses and others on which we can improve, and hope this measure would be able to help the residents,” he said.
