SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Cashless parking payment in Selangor will take effect starting from January 1 next year.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said the Smart Selangor Parking (SSP) payment method will replace the use of parking coupons, which will end on December 31.
“The integrated parking payment system that can be downloaded for free on mobile phones has been coordinated and used by the local authorities in the state,” Ng Han said during a press conference today.
He said that an e-parking agent system will also be developed as an alternative for people who do not own smartphones but added that the details are yet to be confirmed.
Incepted in July 2018, the Selangor smart parking system is widely used by the local authorities in Selangor as well as the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
The mobile phone application was developed by Smart Selangor Delivery Unit in line with Selangor’s vision to become a smart state by year 2025.
