SHAH ALAM, March 3 — Twenty school teachers and staff of a national school in Kajang were instructed to undergo quarantine until March 8 after a teacher tested positive for Covid-19.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the teacher was confirmed positive on Monday after being infected by an elder brother, Harian Metro reported.
“On the same day, the teacher underwent a screening and was quarantined until the result came out positive on March 1,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
He said that the last time the teacher came to school was on February 23 to prepare for the reopening of the school session.
He added that the teacher’s 20 close contacts at the school had undergone testing and were instructed to quarantine themselves.
“No students were exposed to this case,” he said.
