SHAH ALAM, March 4 — Selangor is the first state in the country to set up a smart command centre equipped with five integrated functions to coordinate government agencies operations.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari informed the Smart Selangor C5i Operation Centre (SSOC) has the role of instructing, controlling, communication, computerising and collaborating operations.
He said it has the ability to monitor the Smart Selangor Bus’ speed, solid waste collection operation, security and disaster management including pollution.
“Other states may have operation centres, but only to display closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras recordings, compared to SSOC that is able to house several important agencies,” he explained.
Amirudin when met at the Dewan Jubli Perak here yesterday, added that the command centre will be upgraded from time to time including integrating drone functions to detect river pollution.
Amirudin said all local authorities in Selangor will also go through the process of integrating their services with SSOC in stages.
“The state government is committed towards incorporating digitalisation into governance and administration, coordinating agencies work as well as increasing the quality of services to the people,” he said.
The SSOC, built at the cost of RM6 million, started operating 24-hours early this year and is equipped with high-speed internet connection.
