PORT KLANG, Feb 27 — The Covid-19 community screening organised by the state government continues at the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Multipurpose Hall Pendamar Indah 2 here this morning.

Residents around Taman Pendamar Indah, Bandar Botanik and Bandar Puteri started queuing from 10am to undergo the free screening using the Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag).

Those present adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) by registering through the SELangkah (Step in, safely) mobile application and checking their body temperature.

The screening is conducted by 35 Selcare Clinic health workers who are assisted by the Islamic Medical Association of Malaysia's Response and Relief Team (Imaret).

The screening location is also tightly controlled by MPK enforcers, police and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (Apam).

Through the Kita Selangor Package, the state government announced an allocation of RM6 million to implement a free targeted screening test to curb the spread of the pandemic.

The programme is expected to benefit 50,000 people and focus on target groups such as the elderly especially in nursing homes and hemodialysis centres throughout the state.

Not to be missed are the low-income group (B40) and Selangor higher education students.

Previously, the same programme was held at Section 19 Hall, in Section 7 and Section 25, Shah Alam, at Pandamaran Jaya Multipurpose Hall in Klang, PJS 6 Community Hall in Petaling Jaya and in Sungai Besar Stadium in Sabak Bernam.
