PETALING JAYA, Feb 4 — The Selangor government is targeting to assist 25,000 entrepreneurs to shift towards digitalisation by year-end.

State executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail said the target covers micro-entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), fledgeling businesses and traders.

Rodziah said several training programmes will be conducted online to suit the requirement of the new norm in order to achieve the objective.

“The effort requires hard work seeing that there are still those who have not grasped the online concept let alone conduct business using that method,” she said after visiting the Lembah Subang 1 People’s Housing Project (PPR) yesterday.

Meanwhile, Rodziah said a total of 1,200 entrepreneurs are expected to join the e-commerce class organised by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) this year.

She said the platform, which targeted 10,000 entrepreneurs, had recorded 8,800 participation since it was set up in 2016.
