SHAH ALAM, Feb 2 — The Selangor government is prepared to send 100 staff to the Covid-19 Assessment Centre (CAC) and operation rooms located in each district to assist in the management of the coronavirus patients.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this initiative is part of the state’s effort to assist the Selangor Health Department (JKNS) which is facing limited manpower.
“We need to improve the CAC to strengthen efforts to locate or identify close contacts for isolation, as this is among the priorities that needed to be done immediately.
“Efforts to improve the level of public health service should not be laid solely on the shoulders of the Health Ministry, all parties must come forward to help,” he said during the Agenda Awani talk show broadcasted last night.
On Saturday, the state administration had proposed for more CACs to be established in the state, especially in the Petaling, Hulu Langat and Gombak districts.
Selangor currently has 19 CACs that assess the health condition of patients to identify those who are eligible for home quarantine or to be sent for further treatment at the quarantine centre.
