SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — The SELangkah (Step in, Safely) contact tracing system is currently helping the Selangor government to track former Covid-19 patients in the state.
Checks by SelangorKini found that users of SELangkah would be asked a question that is targeted to track down those who have contracted the Covid-19 infection to help the state administration channel the RM1,000 allocated financial aid.
The question asked by SELangkah is: “The state government is channelling aid to former Covid-19 patients. Have you been previously tested positive for Covid-19 sometime since January 1?”
On August 17, State Health, Welfare, Women and Family Empowerment Committee chairman Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud had urged the people of Selangor who have contracted the Covid-19 infection to claim the special RM1,000 one-off allocation provided under the state’s second economic recovery package, the Selangor Cares Package 2.0.
The application for the funds can be accessed via www.selangorprihatin.com.
The state government has allocated RM1.8 million for the initiative.
As of yesterday, Selangor has recorded an accumulated number of 2,158 confirmed Covid-19 cases.
