SHAH ALAM, JULY 20: Another evacuation center opens in Dengkil after the number of flood victims increased to 635 individuals this morning.
Selangor state disaster management unit (UPNB) head said a flood evacuation centre was opened at the Kampung Dato 'Ahmad Razali Religious Primary School (SRA) yesterday which housed 53 victims.
“As of 8.30am, six evacuation centers including five others, namely Dewan Majlis Pengurusan Komuniti Kampung in Kampung Jenderam Hilir, Dewan Gemilang, Dewan Orang Ramai Dengkil, SRA Dengkil and Dewan Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Dengkil were opened.
"UPNB has increased the number of mobile pumps to pump out flood water around Sepang and we have also activated the pumps in Kuala Langat," he told SelangorKini.
On Saturday, 41 areas in Hulu Langat, Sepang, Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Klang experienced flash floods following heavy rains.
Hulu Langat recorded the highest number of flooded areas registering 22, followed by Sepang (12), Hulu Selangor (four), Gombak (two) and one in Klang.
