KUALA LUMPUR, April 24 — The state government is looking into early preparations following the anticipation of the large-scale interstate travels of university students and people residing or working in Selangor to return back to the state.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said the state administration is also looking into the plans to resume the operations of several industries.
"This is following the announcement on the MCO (movement control order) extension until May 12 that was made by our Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday," he said.
"The state government will also update on the discussion held earlier this morning," he wrote on his official Facebook account today.
Amirudin had chaired a meeting attended by Selangor Police Chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin and Selangor Covid-19 Operations Centre chief Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor, held at the Selangor secretariat building (SUK), here today.
Yesterday, Muhyiddin had announced that the Federal Government will allow “slight relaxation” for those who are stuck elsewhere to return home during the MCO.
This includes university students who are staying on campuses throughout the MCO period and those who have travelled back to their hometowns before the MCO was enforced on March 18.
