MB: Selangor obeys NSC guidelines during MCO

BANGI, April 7 — Selangor will continue to obey the guidelines on business operations during the movement control order (MCO) that have been set by the National Security Council (NSC) period.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari gave the assurance that the state government will continue its compliance on the updated guidelines issued by the NSC.

“We would adhere to the latest updates, for example, in the second phase of the MCO selected business sectors can only operate from 8am to 8pm.

“The same goes with wet markets where they can only operate from 6am to 12pm, whereas before this they were allowed to operate from 6am to 4pm. But we had adjusted to the new rule,” he told reporters after visiting the quarantine centre located at the Judicial and Legal Training Institute (ILKAP), here today.

Amirudin was responding to the statement made by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday, who said decisions by states and local authorities during the MCO must be in line with those of the NSC.

In relation to the permission for auto workshops and spare part outlets to operate from 9am to 4pm during the MCO, Amirudin said there had been a misunderstanding on the matter and it has been resolved.

“The NSC has stated that spare part outlets can only operate twice a week, and we have rectified the issue,” he said.
