AMPANG, APRIL 26: Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) provided an allocation of RM20 million for the purpose of improving the drainage system in the area surrounding the administration.

Its president, Abdul Hamid Hussein said that he has made a further application to the State Government for the purpose of financial provision for facilities repair for Taman Nirwana and Pandan Indah area.

"For this period the council is trying to stay consistent and use the existing provisions in implementing the improvement project as soon as possible," he said.

He was speaking to reporters at the launch of the MPAJ Smart Parking Application at the MPAJ Building, here this morning.

Yesterday, SelangorKini reported the edge of Sungai Kerayong in Taman Lembah Maju beside the teacher’s quarters of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pandan Indah collapsed and silt due to heavy currents.

The incident is believed due to the overflow of water in Taman Nirwana and Pandan Indah area following the heavy rain factor, recently.

However, MPAJ said in a statement yesterday summarily informed, the Drainage and Irrigation Department (JPS) has appointed a contractor to repair the slope.
