SHAH ALAM, 18 Aug: Today, the police obtained a warrant of arrest against the Vice President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
The warrant of arrest was issued following allegations that he issued a seditious statement regarding the Sodomy 2 case appeal against the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"The police have issued a warrant of arrest for YB N Surendran, DS Anwar Ibrahim's counsel in the Sodomy 2 case appeal.
"He will appear at the Jalan Duta court tomorrow, Tuesday 19th August at 9.00 am, under the Sedition Act for issuing a statement that the Sodomy 2 case is a political conspiracy against Anwar which involved Datuk Seri Najib Razak," said the PKR Communications Director, Fahmi Fadzil in a note to the media today.
However, he did not say when the warrant was served and whether Surendran is currently detained by the police or otherwise.
