SHAH ALAM, Oct 29 — SJKT Ladang Batang Kali students from more than 70 families have received school bus fare aid this year, the total estimated value of which is RM21,000, said Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman Pang Sock Tao.
“This assistance is a Selangor government effort to ease parents’ financial burdens so children can keep going to school without (being constricted) by transport costs.
“May this aid bring some relief to families in need,” she said in a Facebook post on Monday.
“Thank you to the school and teachers who tirelessly helped students and their parents apply for this aid,” she added.
The state government has allocated over RM1 million to help Tamil school students from B40 families with bus fare. The initiative benefits 3,452 students, with each recipient receiving RM300 a year.
