KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 — The status of efforts to settle 1Malaysia Development Bhd's (1MDB) remaining net liabilities, estimated at RM20.1 billion, including assets and claims still being recovered, is among the issues expected to be raised in the Dewan Rakyat today.
According to the Order Paper published on Parliament's website, Lee Chuan How (PH-Ipoh Timor) will ask the finance minister for an update on the matter, including the amount expected to be recovered from each claim and the government's target year for fully settling the outstanding liabilities.
Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan (PN-Permatang Pauh) will also seek an explanation from the finance minister on the rationale behind the reduction in the Budi Madani RON95 (BUDI95) subsidised petrol quota from 300 litres to 200 litres before it was increased again on September 1, 2026.
Other issues expected to be raised include data centre operations, plans to upgrade federal and state roads, and measures to address learning loss among pupils from hardcore poor households.
Young Syefura Othman (PH-Bentong) is scheduled to ask the works minister about plans to upgrade federal and state roads in Bentong to cope with increased traffic following the completion of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project.
Meanwhile, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (PN-Machang) will seek details of the government's contingency plans to ensure data centre operations do not compromise electricity and water supplies for the public during droughts or supply disruptions.
Mohd Kurniawan Naim Moktar (BN-Kinabatangan) will seek clarification on the government's strategic action plan to assist pupils from multidimensionally hardcore poor households who continue to experience long-term learning loss.
Following the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat is scheduled to resume the ministerial winding-up of the debate on the Supply Bill 2027.
