SHAH ALAM, Oct 26 — The Warga Platinum Safe Internet Workshop is helping raise public awareness, particularly among senior citizens, about technology safety and the risks of online scams.
Kota Damansara state assemblyman Muhammad Izuan Ahmad Kasim said the workshop was organised to educate the public and encourage them to be more cautious when browsing the Internet.
The information shared through the programme can help the community, particularly senior citizens, use the Internet more safely.
“The information shared through the programme can help the community, especially senior citizens, use the Internet more safely and reduce the risk of falling victim to online scams.
“Middle-income (M40) and lower-income (B40) groups are among those most vulnerable to online scams,” he said in a Facebook post.
Izuan added that the workshop should continue and expand to other communities to ensure more senior citizens can benefit.
He hopes participants will share what they learned with those around them, particularly family members, to help build safer communities.
“These efforts are important to protect vulnerable groups from falling victim to online scams,” Izuan said.
