SHAH ALAM, Oct 20 — Kuala Selangor remains the only air quality monitoring station in Selangor with a moderate Air Pollutant Index (API) reading, at 93, as of 5pm today.
According to the API Management System (APIMS) portal, the remaining five stations in Selangor recorded unhealthy air quality, namely, Johan Setia (171), Petaling Jaya and Shah Alam (169), Klang (164), and Banting (162).
In the Klang Valley area, Batu Muda scored 173 — which is also the highest reading in Malaysia — followed by Cheras (168) and Putrajaya (163).
Of the country’s 68 air quality monitoring stations, 25 had unhealthy readings, 35 had moderate scores, and eight had good figures.
An API reading of zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 300 is hazardous.
