SHAH ALAM, Oct 16 — The Air Pollutant Index (API) reading in Kuala Selangor dipped back into the moderate category at 11pm, with a score of 90.
The state’s other five stations showed unhealthy readings, led by Johan Setia (175), Klang (172), Petaling Jaya (167), Shah Alam (166), and Banting (152).
Malaysia’s three highest API readings were all in Johor — with Pasir Gudang at 196, Larkin at 187, and Pengerang at 177.
At 11pm, 26 stations showed unhealthy readings and 41 showed moderate scores.
Only Sarawak’s Kapit had a good API reading at 47.
An API reading of zero to 50 is good, 51 to 100 is moderate, 101 to 200 is unhealthy, 201 to 300 is very unhealthy, and anything above 300 is hazardous.
Earlier today, the Health Ministry said schools must be closed and outdoor activity halted if API readings exceed 200.
