KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Selangor aims to realise all initiatives in the Second Selangor Plan (RS-2) to boost its economic competitiveness, attract investments, and improve the people’s well-being, making it a model state for ASEAN, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
“This means investment is an important matter, but our efforts cannot stop there. All these challenges need collective effort. We must pool intellectual strengths and expertise we have to find solutions so the younger generation feel confident, safe, and accepted as part of the community,” he said at the Selangor Investment Forum (SIF) closing ceremony at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre today.
SIF was held under the auspices of Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS), which runs until Saturday.

Amirudin said the state has launched various initiatives under RS-2 like Speed Selangor, Kita Selangor Rail, and Selangor Green Economy Agenda 2025-2035 (SAGE) — efforts that open up more opportunities for the people through sustainable development.
“Overall, these efforts prove how we translate RS-2 visions into real actions, strengthening Selangor’s competitiveness and creating more opportunities for our people,” he said.
At the same event, Amirudin launched the Malaysia Digital Location Recognition (MDLR), a strategic collaborative push under Invest Selangor Bhd and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)
Selangor is the first state in Malaysia to launch the MLDR at the state level, with the special MLDR@Selangor branding. It provides structured frameworks to accredit strategic digital zones by three categories — MD Hub, MD Nexus and MD Tech Zone.
These frameworks are aimed at improving Malaysia’s digital ecosystem with quality infrastructure, an environment that supports innovation, and locations ready to receive investments.
