SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 —Three of four road upgrade projects in Rawang have been completed, while a fourth is 90 per cent complete, funded by road maintenance allocations under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS).
Rawang State Assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat said the four projects, involving a total allocation of RM3.69 million, aim to enhance comfort and safety for road users, particularly local residents.
Chua said the three completed projects include Jalan Persiaran Puteri Height in Bandar Country Homes, costing RM590,000; Jalan Tokong Cina in Rawang town (RM270,000); and Jalan Persiaran Pelangi in Taman Pelangi (RM530,000).
Meanwhile, the upgrade project for Jalan Persiaran Rawang 1 in Rawang Integrated, with an allocation of RM2.3 million, has reached approximately 90 per cent completion.
"For the project in Rawang Integrated, not only is the road being resurfaced, but pedestrian walkways and safety railings are also being constructed to ensure residents can move about more safely," he said in a Facebook post.
Wei Kiat added that these projects go beyond improving road conditions; they focus on the safety and comfort of residents who use these routes daily.
"To us, road upgrades are not just about making the roads look good; more importantly, it is about the comfort and safety of the residents who use them every day," he said.
